Community Outreach Page

Sports & More is invested in the progress of our community. By offering programs to better the lives of our children, we begin to help make the world better one smiling face at a time. Sports & More is always looking for other ways to benefit the community.

Kelly’s Ride 2009

Sports & More is currently working with Cyle Hanker of Troop 74 of Woodbury and Robin’s Nest of Glassboro to help everyone who is interested to participate in this year’s Kelly’s Ride 2009! Kelly’s Ride is a charity bike-ride that benefits young girls and young women in need or at risk through three beneficiary organizations including the Life Links homes at Robins Nest, Inc. If you are interested in donating bicycle helmets and protective gear for Robin’s Nest girls and boys to wear for the journey or if you are interested in giving monetary donations to help Cyle’s troop to cover the cost of repairs to donated used bicycles they collected, please stop by to Sports & More by June 1.

Outreach In Action

Since our founding in 1999, we have proudly sponsored local children’s sports teams including the Monroe Township Braves, Deptford Soccer and others. We have contributed to charitable causes including the Center for Family Services and the Cure for Autism. In addition, we help raise funds for educational efforts throughout the Gloucester and Camden County area.

Each December from 1999 to 2007, Sports & More joined forces with the United States Marines’ Toys for Tots program to collect toys for needy children. In 2006, our Christmas Family Festival collected more than 200 toys and $1000 for the Marines’ cause.

Sports & More established Sporty’s Healthy Child Program in early 2007. Upon request, Sporty the English Pointer Puppy will visit local schools, hospitals, facilities and fundraising events to raise funds or educate children about proper nutrition, exercise and sports safety.

In November of 2008, Storm Watchers and Storm cheerleaders collected over ?? pounds of food at their 2008 Pep Rally. The food was donated to ??.

In December of 2008, Sports & More was a donation site for Robin’s Nest’s Santa’s Workshop. To help spur donations, Sports & More hosted a Winter Wonderland event for games, craft vendors, and more. Sports & More collected over 60 toys, $100 in monetary donations, and with the help of our friends at Glassboro’s Game Crazy, we donated a Wii to a special Robin’s Nest family.
